Captain Doug Dank: The Monologist Who Could Be YOU!

Just read the announcement on Moisten Manapkin: This Wednesday at The Doug Dank Project, they'll be trying something different...instead of their usual guest monologist, audience members will put their names in a hat, and whoever is chosen will get to share stories from their life and see them inspire improv scenes. Awesome.

Wednesday, April 23, at PushPush Theater.

A Gentleman and a Palindrome

After several years' residency in Prague, the legendary Marc Cram has returned to Atlanta for a spell, and is making his mark once again with a slew of activity. At Dad's Garage, he's the director of the just-opened play "Poker Night at the White House" (and he'll also be making a return appearance as Jive Turkey when "Uncle Grampa's Hoo-Dilly Storytime" returns). And tonight, he'll be the guest monologist at The Doug Dank Project.

See them all if you can. You'll be in for some awe.

So Scary, It Made Me Get Out of My Chair and Do a Dance

Gary Simmons (along with The Strummin' Mummy) will be the guest monologist at tomorrow night's Doug Dank Project. Oooh, scary!

But Wait! There's More!

In addition to the other events this weekend (Dragon*Con, the World Domination Improv Tournament, the Drive-InVasion), here's something else I should try to catch:

On Saturday night, Eric Powell (of The Goon fame) and Dana Snyder (of Aqua Teen Hunger Force infamy) will be the featured guests at The Lucky Yates Talk Show at the Midtown Vortex. Cool beans (and hamburgers)!

I also wanted to mention that I had an incredible time at last night's Doug Dank Project, which featured several of the World Domination guests joining the Dank ensemble...once again proving that Canada is the world's leading exporter of awesome.

Battle of the Century

Inspired by the improv at tonight's Doug Dank Project:

Which match-up would you rather see?

Superman vs. the Mayor of Hollywood (with his terrible power to shut down production).

Or...

Superman vs. a whiny, spoiled little kid.

Just Got Back from Doug Dank...

...And I could really go for some spicy waffle-ironed squirrel and a tall glass of Clamclang.

(And no, that sentence wouldn't make sense even if you'd seen the show.)
